Do you work on shared network drives?
Or together on one machine?

Do you frequently miss new or changed documents?

Well, until your internal communication process is fixed this small tool can be a great help.

DocCrawler doesn’t need any installation. It is released under the GNU Lesser Public License and free for any use. You can download your copy of the latest version here:

DocCrawler 1.2.0

Description:

The DocCrawler is a small program that can scan a given directory (recursively) for new/modified or deleted files (since last scan). It is also possible to exlude one or more sub-directories inside that directory.
The DocCrawler does not need any installation – it can simply be copied onto the hard-drive and started using the DocCrawler.bat file.
All data is stored inside a simple and leightweight HSQL file-based database. Per 3000 files this takes only about 1MB of storage.
The only configuration needed is setting the folder to scan and (optionally) sub-folders inside that folder which DocCrawler shall ignore. After setting those values the database has to be initialized which means that DocCrawler will read all files currently inside the selected folder into its database. After that it is ready to use. All changes are saved automatically.
Detailed instructions can be found in the in-program help function.
